In Memory of Troy GilbertTroy Gilbert died November 27, 2006 while flying a combat mission in the Anbar province of Iraq. Troy Gilbert was born Feb 19, 1972 at Barksdale Air Force Base. Like the example set by his father before him, he raised his his right hand, took the oath, put on the uniform and put himself into the breach for his country. He served thirteen years as an officer, serving in England at Lakenheath and at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, Aviano Air Force Base, Italy and Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. He was a Major, Instructor pilor, husband and father to five. He was buried at Arlington National Cemetery Dec 11, 2006.
